There have actually been many more cases involving female teachers and their male students and I agree that the reaction of society is not equal to that towards the relationships between male teachers and their students. I believe that society as a whole is more lenient and or sympathetic with the females in most relationships. Though we have come a long way with the Feminist movement and how we view and treat women today, there is still not total equality. This idea of feminine vulnerability is still very much manifested today. Even though many would not like to admit it, the double standard is prevalent. Women are equal to men, yet the society’s view of male initiated domestic violence is frowned on upon much worse than female initiated domestic violence. In the case of these female teachers and their younger male students society’s view is not much different. We still see the male figure as dominant, and most capable of manipulation. The female is vulnerable and weak, and these teachers do a good job in playing into the role. The fact is the anatomy of manipulation has both a penis and a vagina.
